Bear Lake Memorial Hospital


Bear Lake Memorial Hospital is a 21 bed, county-owned Critical Access Hospital with a 36 bed Skilled Nursing Facility attached.  BLMH employees approximately 270 individuals, including 4 Family Practitioners, 1 General Surgeon, 1 Orthopedic Surgeon, 1 OBGYN and 3 PAs.  The hospital has several specialized visiting physicians which allows us to increase the already wide variety of services offered to our community and the surrounding area.  BLMH has its own dialysis center as well as chemo therapy.   Some of the services provided include inpatient and outpatient services, labor and delivery, surgery, respiratory therapy, home health, rehabilitation, skilled nursing and assisted living. Bear Lake lies in the very south eastern corner of Idaho neighboring the Wyoming and Utah borders.  The hospital is located in Montpelier and is within 30 miles of the breathtaking Bear Lake.  The county has a population of approximately 6,000 people with an unemployment rate of 3.7%.  The lake and surrounding mountains offer great opportunities for wildlife, fishing, hunting, biking, ATVs, snowmachining, skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, hiking, water skiing, boating and many other activities.  The Oregon Trail Museum is in Montpelier and marks the track of the Oregon Trail.  Montpelier is known for the bank the Butch Cassidy robbed many years ago.  This bank still stands and is now a museum.  Montpelier is the byway to Jackson, Wyoming and to two National Parks - Yellowstone National Park and Teton National Park.  The valley allows it inhabitants to enjoy a variety of activities with its four season climate. Montpelier is close to two universities, Idaho State University in Pocatello, Idaho and Utah State, Logan, Utah.
