Performs diagnostic sonographic examinations utilizing ultrasonic equipment to locate, evaluate and record critical functional, pathological, and anatomical data. Schedules and coordinates tests, records test results, and prepares and maintains operational logs. Calibrates and maintains equipment and orders supplies when needed. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Typically reports to a chief technologist or manager. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Bachelors or Associates degree (A.A.S.), from a CAAHEP accredited college or a two-year technical/vocational college with a certificate in the ultrasound program.
ARDMS credentialed in RDMS and at least one additional corresponding specialty exam is required.
ARDMS credentialed in RVT.
BLS Required. Current AHA Healthcare provider, American Red Cross, AHA Health Saver or KMC BLS within 60 days of hire.
Essential Job Functions (Physical Requirements):
On feet a minimum of 8-12 hours, depending on length of shift.
Frequent stooping, bending, reaching, lifting and pushing heavy equipment.
Read charts, dials, equipment settings, literature and other printed and handwritten materials.
Communicate with patients, physicians, families and co-workers in person and on telephone.
Work with equipment and manipulate equipment settings, computer keyboard, etc.
Kootenai Health operates 24 hours per day each day of the year, operational needs of departments may require that you be available to work all shifts, weekends and holidays to meet the needs of the patients.
Work is normally performed in a typical interior work environment.
