Perform diagnostic ultrasound, physiologic, and duplex studies on patients according to approved protocols, ultrasound exposure, safety, and established exam indicators including spectral analysis and color Doppler displays. Schedule and obtain history from patients. Evaluate the requested exams and assist radiologists during procedures. Maintain knowledge of equipment and instruments/supplies pertinent to high quality exams. Provide internal and external patient communication consistent with age and mental capacity. Some travel between sites expected.


Associate's degree in Science or Allied Health Field; Bachelor's degree in Science or Allied Health Field preferred
Ultrasound Technologists: OB/GYN registry required (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography)
Minimum of one additional ARDMS specialty (ABD, RVT, BR, NE, PED, MSK, NT), preferred
American Heart Association Basic Life Support for HealthCare Provider (BLS/HCP) certification
Demonstrate ability to perform all diagnostic studies within areas of Ultrasound as assigned
Proficient skills with M.S. Office and other software programs
Knowledgeable in ultrasound imaging equipment
Current, unrestricted driver's license
Must be able to work independently

Demonstrate knowledge and skills to competently scan all assigned age groups (Neonate, Child, Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric)
Revenue Management: ensure the accuracy of documenting services and supplies provided to the patients
Perform ordered procedures according to subspecialty protocols and procedures, ensuring that optimum exams are acquired
Keep accurate and updated documentation of medications on inventory and medications utilized
Document exam results on various media for permanent record and physician evaluation
Maintain patient charts and logs for billing and quality assurance
Respond to all patient care criteria according to SARMC policies and procedures for patient care, including, but not limited to Code Blue Preparedness, Universal Precautions, Radiation Safety Standards and CPR
Maintain availability when on call and responds within 30 minutes. Is flexible with shifts and patient assignments including filling shifts in order to cover sick leave, time off, and bereavement within the Health System
Schedule patients and radiologists for procedures utilizing specialty area and departmental scheduling protocols
Possess strong time management skills and ensure that department is stocked, clean, and orderly and tasks are completed
