Provides regional support and leadership for the continuum of echo cardiology and Mobile Echo. Creates and manages regional skills checklist, staff evaluations and schedule, provides coverage support at all sites if needed, evaluates echo exam quality and provides recommendations, ensures ICAEL accreditation, and assists in echo colleague yearly evaluations. Ensures EKG's and other cardiology procedures are performed timely and accurately at all sites. Assists in equipment evaluation and ensures educational opportunities regionally. Will travel between sites as needed.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in Science or Allied Health Field required (Cardiovascular Technologist, Nursing, Radiology, or Respiratory Therapy).
RCDS (Registered Cardiac Diagnostic Sonographer by American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography) required, or CCI registry acceptable.
Five years of experience as a registered technologist in the field of echocardiography required.
Pediatric Echo training and experience required.
Healthcare provider BLS certification required.
Must possess a current valid and unrestricted driver's license.

Demonstrates knowledge and skills to competently care for all assigned age groups (Neonate, Child, Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric as applicable).
Maintains a professional and positive working relationship with all physicians, staff, and management, providing supervision consistent with Saint Alphonsus Mission Statement.
Develops and monitors staff work scheduling and assignments. Monitors and adjusts workflow of department as needed.
Identifies and recommends staff training needs.
Performs as technical liaison for physicians.
Revenue Management: ensures the accuracy of documenting services and supplies provided to the patients.
Develops policies and procedures and ensures they are reviewed, revised and implemented in appropriate time frames. Performs routine performance audits of staff to ensure compliance to department and facility policies and procedures.
Participates in all aspects of performance management, which includes recruiting, training, retention, hiring, firing, and salary recommendations of department staff
Administers policies and procedures, participates in Quality Improvement planning, and provides study review ensuring quality and consistency of studies for physician reading.
Daily inspects and assures functionality and preventative maintenance of equipment and rooms; evaluates and recommends equipment acquisition annually.
Supports and guides motivational, educational, and disciplinary needs of staff with Regional Director of Cardiology Services and following Human Resource Department guidelines.
Ensures orientation and training of new staff introduction to protocols, procedures for Department, as well as RHM's.
Monitors department performance to annual plan and identifies opportunities to improve patient care and department productivity standards.
Performs as a working technologist (if needed) to support department per essential functions and technical competencies as described in Echo Sonographer job description.
Competent in M-mode, 2D imaging, color Doppler, TEE, Stress Echo, and Contrast Echo.
Working knowledge of ultrasound equipment, digital archiving.
Excellent communication and personnel management skills, with previous supervisory or lead experience required.
Able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
